Bookings for the coupe SUV have opened with the amount set at **Rs.

11,001** and this price is valid for all bookings till **31 October**.

Powering the 2024 Basalt is a **1.

2-litre, three-cylinder, petrol engine** in naturally aspirated and turbocharged forms.

The former produces **80 bhp and 115 Nm**, while the turbo version generates **109 bhp and 190 Nm (205 Nm for AT)**.

The NA petrol gets a **five-speed manual** while the turbo gets a **six-speed MT or a six-speed AT**.

On the outside, the Basalt boasts **projector headlamps and LED DRLs, twin-slat grille, silver skid plates, circular fog lights, blacked-out ORVMs and B-pillars, and flap-type door handles**.

Further, it gets **dual-tone alloy wheels, sloping roofline, wraparound taillights, shark-fin antenna, and an optional contrast-coloured roof**.

Inside, the Basalt coupe SUV receives a **10.

25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument console, automatic climate control, three-step adjustable thigh support for the second row, three-spoke steering wheel, rear AC vents, six airbags, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity**.

These are all features that will now also be available on the **C3 Aircross** and also in some versions of the **C3 hatchback**.

It’s indicative of the plan by the French automaker to sell the car with two major USPs.

The first is, of course, a **unique body-style** while the second is that this is a **big car for sub-4 metre money**.

The latter means it is going up against the likes of the **Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV3OO, Maruti Brezza, Maruti Fronx, Toyota Taisor, Nissan Magnite, and the Renault Kiger**.

You can also look at sub-4 sedans like the **Amaze, Dzire, and Aura** and even the **Renault Triber**.
