A teenager who died after being struck by a van in Co Laois on Saturday night has been named locally as Daragh Lee.
Daragh Lee, 19, was a Shamrock Rovers fan, an employee of Fastway couriers, and a member of The Red Devils Laois, a Manchester United supporters club.
He is survived by his parents, Mark and Tracy, his sisters, Shauna and Lauren, his grandparents, and his nephew.
In a statement on Twitter, Shamrock Rovers FC expressed their “deepest sympathies” to the family and friends of Daragh.
The post mentioned that 'Daragh was only 19 years of age and had been at Tallaght Stadium celebrating the league win in the South Stand with his dad.
' Another Twitter post from a Shamrock Rovers fan said that Daragh was a fan who “eats, drinks, and sleeps” Shamrock Rovers.
A spokesman for Shamrock Rovers FC told The Irish Times that the club had contacted the family and would be “paying our respects at the funeral.
” The teenager died after being struck by a van in Co Laois on the N80 road at Clonsoghey on Saturday morning.
Investigating gardaí are now appealing for witnesses to come forward, particularly any road users with dashcam footage.
