**Carolina Beach, N.
C.
(WECT)** - In Carolina Beach, **18 inches of rain** fell in just **12 hours**, causing severe flooding.
Neighbors say they have never seen anything like this before.
The historic amount of rainfall caused flooding that has taken everything from some neighbors.
'I’ve lived here forever, and it has never, ever, ever flooded like this before,' said Marshall.
'I’ve dealt with Florence, Floyd, Fran, I’ve dealt with them all.
But this one was one for the books because there was no preparation.
I’ve lost everything,' said Marshall.
'I’ve lost my car, my golf cart, my RV, my car, everything.
Yeah, I pretty much lost everything,' said Marshall.
Marshall says unlike past storms, she did not prepare for what happened on Monday.
She says high water seemed to come out of nowhere.
'I knew that there was water in here yesterday.
I was like, ‘Okay, it’s going to come and it’s going to go.
’ It just never went,' said Marshall.
Trevor and Trey Eason co-own Handy Andy’s, and spent Tuesday helping Sheila.
They are also shocked at what Monday’s storms did.
'This one really caught us, everybody, off guard.
So much, as soon as it was clear to come over here, we came over and seemed like so far the biggest help for everybody just kind of clearing stuff out for them.
Because, I mean, the water is still here.
It’s not time to fix yet.
It’s time to clear out,' said the Eason brothers.
Marshall says she is just thankful for the help and for friends.
She says at the end of the day, she just lost stuff.
'I’m very blessed.
I’m not, you know, it could be a lot worse.
So it’s just stuff, and we can replace it,' said Marshall.
