Ireland - Web content about Benjamin Ross missing Majorca
Ben Ross, a British man, was found alive in Majorca after a series of unfortunate events led to his disappearance 12 days ago.
His mother, Felix Robinson, expressed immense gratitude for the support they received during the search.
She mentioned that everyone has been incredible, and they are now focused on getting Ben back to full health and home safely.
Ben's last contact with his mother was a peculiar email indicating his mental health had declined after being robbed at the beach and having a fallout with his flatmates.
Felix traveled to Majorca to find her son, with the help of Ben's friend Carla, who set up an online fundraiser.
Carla updated the GoFundMe page, announcing that Ben was reunited with his incredibly relieved mother at the British Consulate in Palma Majorca.
Felix and her family are requesting privacy while they help Ben recover and return home.
They extended their thanks to the press, media, and public for their support.
The family is now arranging an emergency passport and ensuring Ben is well enough to fly home after treatment for dehydration and exhaustion.
Donations to the GoFundMe will be given to Andy’s Man Club once they return home.
Felix previously told the Liverpool Echo that Ben had been doing well but a series of unfortunate events led to his breakdown.
She described him as a lovely, polite young man who would do anything for anyone.
His issues began a couple of years ago and affected his studies.
He was preparing for his pupillage as a barrister but the problems started unexpectedly.
On July 6, Ben set out to get a European work number, carrying all his important items including his identification, phone, wallet, iPad, and apartment keys.
However, upon his return, he found his bag with all his possessions had been stolen.
He reported the theft to the police, but by the time he was done, it was late at night and he got lost without his phone for navigation.
Despite knocking on the door several times, his flatmates didn’t let him in.
The police were called to the flat but decided Ben had no criminal case to answer as he offered to pay for the damage he caused by forcing his way in.
The cryptic email Ben sent to his mother explained what had happened and that he was not interested in what happened next, which left Felix seriously concerned.
She reached the Spanish holiday hotspot for a desperate door-to-door hunt for her son.
Greater Manchester police referred the family to the British Consulate for assistance in the search.
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) supported the family and was in contact with local authorities.
The National Police in Majorca were aware of the disappearance and were working to locate Ben.
